• Added Secret Lair Drop

The eternal legal cards from Secret Lair have been added. Secret Lair Drop (SLD) is the first "dynamic" expansion in MITB in that it grows over time.

Only cards that are unique to SLD will be added. Their "Universes Within" versions will not be added. However, SLD cards that have Universes Within versions will have an "alternate name" that allows users to still reference cards by the Universes Within name. (Alternate names were introduced for Spiderman and Through the Omenpaths.)

• Brawl Format Removed

The Brawl format has been removed as it is not popular outside of Arena and not popular on MITB. Any Brawl decks in MITB were converted to Commander. This will free up resources and reduce maintenance.

• Miscellany

• Moved the energy counter in Playtest above the poison counter. This will ease tracking of energy because before, a player could only update their energy on their own turn.
• Fixed issue where decklists containing both the Universes Beyond version and Universes Within version of the same card caused an error
• Usernames are now shown of "Starred Decks" in Playtest's "Select Enemy Deck" screen
• Fixed issue where moving a card from the library via drag and drop while searching the library caused shuffling to be skipped
• Fixed issue where the Import Deck modal would visibly change its state to the New Deck modal as it was being hidden

• Performance/SEO Improvements

A number of small changes were made to improve the loading performance and SEO scores of both the marketing pages and the app itself. These are a bit in the weeds, but I'd like to have them added to the historical record.

Marketing Pages

• Added meta descriptions to all pages
• Optimized SVG images
• Inlined logo SVG on home page to reduce Largest/First Contentful Paint
• Screenshot images are now served up based on screen resolution (responsive images)
• Convert screenshots from webp to avif
• Inline small JavaScript snippets
• Load CAPTCHA asynchronously on the Sign Up page
• Preconnect to domains related to the Sign Up page's CAPTCHA
• Updated a link to the news page to avoid an extra redirect on the marketing pages

MITB

• Converted Magic Symbols font to woff2
• Remove unused characters from Magic Symbols font
• Introduced CSS layers to reduce CSS bundle size
• Removed remaining Internet Explorer specific rules from CSS

Adding tokens to Playtest will be in the next release.
